Battery Electric cars have no tailpipe emissions while driving,§ while Hybrids and Plug-in Hybrids combine electric and engine power to deliver a responsive and fuel-efficient driving experience.

If you go for a Battery Electric car or Plug-in Hybrid, recharging couldn't be easier. You can charge at home using a domestic socket or, for faster charging, a wallbox charger installed in your garage or on your driveway. Alternatively, top up on the move using the ever-expanding public charging network. Hybrids are refuelled at a petrol station in the normal way. 

In terms of ownership and driving style, Hybrids require very little adjustment from a traditional petrol or diesel car, making them a good choice for your first electrified* car. They drive much like a conventional car and require no charging. Plug-in Hybrids can be charged but they can also drive without charging – you need only top up the fuel tank in the normal way. This makes them an ideal stepping stone to Battery Electric. Battery Electric cars offer a number of advantages but do require charging. Installing a home charger will help you get the best out of your Battery Electric Toyota.
